In 2016, Arion Productions Ltd launched a series of masterclasses for theatre professionals and those in/considering performing arts related training to provide expert ‘one day only’ masterclasses in much-sought-after specialist fields with some of the UK’s finest theatre, film, television and radio professionals at affordable rates.
Special guest facilitators for 2018 include actor and director Julie Atherton, leading man Oliver Savile, producer and casting director Danielle Tarento, actor and recording artist Cassidy Janson and all of the masterclasses will have Musical Directors Rebecca Grant, Ben Papworth and multi-award-winning Director and Arion Production’s Artistic Director Andrew Keates to help facilitate each session too.
Portfolio Masterclasses will take place at the rehearsal studios of the multi-award winning Omnibus Theatre, located just five minutes away from Clapham Common underground station. After each masterclass, attendees are encouraged to make new friends and connections by socialising at Omnibus Theatre’s Common Room, which has free Wi-Fi, comfy chairs, a fully stocked bar with craft beers, soft drinks, a great wine selection and even two theatre cats called Molly and Tybalt (who are very happy to move to their special room if you have any allergies). Refreshments are available to purchase throughout the day.
Each masterclass will last for approximately four hours (including breaks) and digital photographs from the masterclasses are available to all those who attend free of charge. A maximum of sixty attendees can come to each masterclass. Prices vary for each masterclass, with an affordable choice to be observer and watch the work being done or to be a participant to work one-on-one with the special guest artist and gain invaluable, personal tuition and artistic exploration.
Please click the images below to find out more about each masterclass and to book your place. Please note the only available masterclass to book for in 2018 is Cassidy Janson’s Acting Through Song Masterclass.

How To Get There
The closest tube station is Clapham Common station (Northern Line), which is a short 5-minute walk from the theatre. After exiting the Tube station barriers, keep right and head up the stairs, taking the right-hand exit marked “Clapham High Street/The Pavement/Old Town/Buses”. You will exit the station onto a street called The Pavement and you should see a Little Waitrose on the opposite side of the road. Turn left out of the station and follow The Pavement, keeping the Common on your left. Once you have passed Holy Trinity Church, Omnibus Theatre is straight ahead on the corner of Clapham Common Northside and Orlando Road (opposite the Starbucks).
Omnibus Theatre is a 10-15 minute walk from either Wandsworth Road or Clapham High Street Overground Stations. From Clapham High Street, you can also take bus routes 50, 88, 155 or 345 to Clapham Common tube station and walk from there.
The following bus routes stop very close to Omnibus Theatre:
88 and 417: Omnibus Clapham (final stop – right outside our doors!)
249: Clapham Common Old Town (final stop)
137: Clapham Common Old Town (Stop W)
322: The Pavement (final stop – turn left after alighting and walk back – the building will be straight ahead)
In addition, the following bus routes stop outside Clapham Common tube station: 35, 37, 50, 155, 345, 690
By National Rail
The travel time from East Croydon is around 30 minutes. Change at Balham for the Northern Line (northbound) and it’s two stops to Clapham Common.
There is little on-street parking available in the surrounding area. There are a limited number of free parking spaces after 6.30pm alongside the common (Northside / B303, and The Pavement). Before 6.30pm these spaces are expensive pay-and-display.
Please allow plenty of time if you are driving, and park carefully to avoid the wrath of the traffic wardens. Different roads have different restrictions, sometimes in adjoining bays!
More information on routes and timetables can be found at Transport for London and information about parking can be found at Lambeth Council website (on the ‘Lambeth CPZ Map’ we are in grid reference M2, at the top of the square).
For more information and to book your place, please visit www.omnibus-clapham.org/portfolio-masterclasses or telephone the Omnibus Theatre Box Office on 020 7498 4699 (Box Office is open Monday to Saturday 10am – 6pm). Each ticket bought will incur a £1 booking fee. There is no booking fee for tickets bought in person or over the telephone.
